William S. Frank, M.A.,
President/CEO William S. Frank, M.A., founded CareerLab in 1978 and serves as President/CEO. Under his leadership, CareerLab has been retained by more than 300 brand-name corporations in 75 industries, including AT&T, Coca Cola, HBO, Janus, KPMG, Lockheed Martin, Pentax, Schlumberger, TRW, and Village Inn. His network of business executives, executive recruiters, and thought leaders spans the globe.

A full-time consultant, Bill focuses on career strategy and management, executive coaching, leadership development, and high-level outplacement. And he often serves as a sounding board for CEOs. Here is a partial list of executive coaching clients. In addition, he drives career advancement for middle and upper-level managers and executives, consultants, entrepreneurs—and top professionals, such as physicians [where he has experience with every medical specialty from Anesthesiology to Urology]. Ted Cline's transition from corporate America into independent consulting is one real-life example.

In May, 2001, he originated TOP-12, a monthly, invitation-only leadership roundtable for chief human resources executives from 12 Colorado corporations representing 150,000 employees. He aggressively grew the organization to 30 members and then merged it with The Human Resources Planning Society, which continues today. In the mid-80s Mr. Frank served three terms on the Board of Directors for The Colorado Human Resource Association.

On February 2, 2002, (02.02.02), CareerLab and DATA (their technology partner) launched the Executive Portfolio,™ an online software program that offers professionals, consultants, business owners, and executives the tools to build a free resume, career marketing website, or online portfolio using only basic wordprocessing skills. With the Executive Portfolio,™ anyone can tell their story to the world. See his sample Executive Portfolio.™

Bill's book, 200 Letters For Job Hunters, published by Ten Speed Press, has sold 100,000 copies to date, and the full text of the 348-page book is online by subscription. In 1997 he created the RED HOT Cover Letter collection for the Career Center at America Online, and became one of AOL's most popular contributors.

Bill writes a monthly leadership column for The Denver Business Journal.
He has also written for business publications and major market newspapers nationwide, ranging from The Wall Street Journal's "National Business Employment Weekly," and Forbes.com to The Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News, Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Atlanta Journal-Constitution. If you access The Career Advisor,™ his compendium of career-oriented articles, you'll find useful tips for yourself and valuable tactics for your company.

Bill has woven CareerLab into the fabric of career development worldwide. Websites from Russia to the Netherlands, South Africa to the United Kingdom, Latin America to Germany, New Zealand to Portugal, reference both the extensive CareerLab website resources and its successful publications. Domestically, CareerLab maintains a presence in career-oriented centers spanning the nation, from the Arlington, VA City Library Job Hunting Information Center to a Marin County, CA career development organization.

Bill earned a B.A. in Liberal Arts (1968) and an M.A. in Philosophy (1969) from Colorado State University. He is a third generation Coloradoan, and his family has a long history of service to the community. His maternal grandfather, Henry Brummer, owned a small grocery store during the depression. His paternal grandfather, Lorenz W. Frank, M.D., was a founder of Exempla Lutheran Medical Center (Westminster, CO), one of the top 100 hospitals in the country.
